Represented by the Media and Public Relations Department, the Sharjah Police General Directorate have launched “Your Belongings... Your Responsibility” campaign on Monday.

The campaign will last for a period of one month, to educate drivers in particular and members of society in general, to preserve their belongings and not leave them in vehicles to keep them from being stolen, by publishing multilingual educational videos (Arabic, English, and Urdu) through social media websites of Sharjah Police, and electronic displays throughout the emirate.

The campaign was launched in collaboration with the Criminal Investigation Department, Traffic and Patrols Department, Community Police Department, and Comprehensive Police Stations.

The aim of the campaign is to spread awareness and guidance among members of the UAE society; following the strategic objective of the Ministry of Interior to achieve ultimate safety and security.

The Sharjah Police General Directorate is keen on improving and spreading security awareness among all society members, through warning from car the crimes that might take place, and providing proper guidance to prevent such incidents from happening.

Police urged car owners to avoid leaving behind valuable belongings in their vehicle, such as phones, money, wallet, and women handbags.

They also advised owners not to leave important documents, as they might be an easy target for car thieves.

Sharjah Police called on all members of the public to report any occurring suspicious incident, and call on the toll number (999) to get the necessary help.

They also urged vehicle owners to install anti-theft  alarm in order to prevent its the .

Recently, Police confiscated 50 vehicles for drifting and reckless driving.

Those vehicles were spotted by police traffic patrols.

Police are gathering information on this category of motorists, whose motoring menaces were putting lives at risk by turning the streets into a race track.

The authorities took appropriate legal action against them.
