With his 81 titles -17 of them in Grand Slams and 36 in Masters 1000- the Serbian accumulates around 145 million dollars in his 18 years as a professional, more than Roger Federer (almost 130 million in 23 seasons) and Rafael Nadal (about 123 million in 21) earned. However, player earnings are not limited to tournament reward pools alone. The great stars of the circuit also pocket large amounts for sponsorship contracts. And if that income is taken into account, the Swiss supersedes -by a lot- the number one in the world.

What’s more, if you take their total career winnings and divide them by the number of Grand Slams trophies, each induction in that category “yielded” Roger twice as much as it did. Rafa and 3.5 times more than Nole. According to statistics released by the British site Safe Betting Sites; the Helvetian earned for each “big one” about 45.05 million dollars. The Mallorcan generated 22.6 million and the Serbian, “just” 12.94.

Federer is not only one of the best players in the world. The Swiss – who since Sunday shares the record of top Grand Slams champion with Nadal, with 20 trophies each – is also one of the most popular on the circuit. With fans all over the world, it is not surprising that many brands and companies have offered him juicy contracts to have him as an ambassador or as a face.

His earnings from those deals have so far earned him about $ 76 million. Added to the 145 he won in the competitions he played, his heritage is close to 221 million, by far the least rich of the Big Three.

When it comes to choosing their partners, the big brands look for the most charismatic players and with more reach to the fans. But also the most winners. Thus, it is not wrong to consider that each title won means income not only from the prizes awarded by the tournament organizer, but also from sponsorships. More wins and more trophies equals more sponsors and more earnings.

It is then worth that comparison between the money that each Grand Slam generated for Federer, Nadal and Djokovic, great dominators of world tennis in the last 15 years. In terms of performance rewards alone, the Serbian earned 8.53 million for each of his 17 “big” titles. The Swiss, 6.45 million and the Spanish, 6.15 million.

Although taking into account the income also from sponsorships, Roger is positioned as the richest and the one who got the most out of each of his celebrations in the most important category of world tennis. A statistic in which his reign is far from in danger.
