The date for the 2019/20 Egyptian Super Cup in Abu Dhabi has been confirmed, with heavyweights Al Ahly and Zamalek meeting at the Mohamed bin Zayed Stadium on February 20.

The match will mark the fourth time the Super Cup has been held in the UAE, following its relocation to Al Ain in 2016. It then alternated between the Garden City and Abu Dhabi until returning last year to Egypt, where Ahly defeated arch-rivals Zamalek 3-2 in Alexandria.

Two of Arab football’s best-known sides, Ahly booked their spot for the clash by winning the Egyptian Premier League, while Zamalek quality through their Egypt Cup success.

An Egypt Football Association statement read: “EFA board member Mohamed Fadl arrived in the UAE on January 3, making an investigative visit to suggested stadiums to host Egypt’s Super Cup game.

“The EFA crew headed by Fadl chose the Mohamed bin Zayed Stadium to host the game that will be played on Thursday, 20 February, with the attendance of 37,000 fans.”
