Thank you for reading the news about Fantasy Premier League: Picks & Tips for Gameweek 22 and now with the details
With the holiday gameweeks concluded, KingFut’s Fantasy Premier League (FPL) pundits return with the deadline tips for your squads ahead of Gameweek 22.
It’s insane how many gameweeks are crammed in during the holiday season – a total of eight GWs from December 1st to January 1st. For some of us, this led to falling from the top 100K down to the top 1million, while others managed to make strides during this festive period. We’ve now had plenty of time to reflect however. With key injuries, manager changes, under-the-radar players hitting the ground running, the return of the wildcard and double gameweeks around the corner make this the perfect opportunity to strategise for the remainder of the season.
Mohamed Korain (@MKorain) is currently on vacation so Adam Moustafa (@AdamMousKF) returns to cover for him alongside Omar Khairallah (@khairallax) to highlight captain choices, differentials and players to keep an eye out for in Gameweek 22.
Gameweek 22 Preview:
Omar: Danny Ings (£6.7m) – He’s in for a tough run of games, but he’s providing tremendous value for money! Sometimes strikers on a hot streak are too good to be ignored regardless of fixtures.
Adam: Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.5m) – I felt I could survive the festive period without Liverpool defense, but I’m still feeling the burns from TAA’s recent 24-point haul in 2020. Although Liverpool’s next two fixtures seem tough on paper, even without cleansheets he’s able to offer plenty of attacking returns. With a double gameweek just around the corner owning TAA or Robertson, or both, seem like the safest routes to FPL points.
Omar: Youri Tielemans (£6.3m) – Leicester have good fixtures but he’s been playing deeper and with the absence of Ndidi he might have to sit back a bit.
Adam: Spurs defense – I thought signing Gazzaniga on my wildcard back in GW8 would prove to be a masterstroke, and also thought José Mourinho would stiffen the Spurs defense. Although it may still be too early to draw conclusions, I’ve run out of patience with Gazza as it seems there won’t be any short-term defensive benefits to their squad.
Omar: Gabriel Martinelli (£4.5m) – I believe Arteta will trust him with some game time on the left wing, and he can be a sneaky option into Arsenal’s attack with the least possible price tag. Keep an eye on him!
Adam: Felipe Anderson (£6.6m) – We’ve all seen what Felipe was capable of doing last season, and he scored his first goal of the season last weekend on David Moyes’ return to the club after reportedly demanding a ‘Brazilian goal’. West Ham also have a double gameweek in GW24 and he’s one I’m currently keeping an eye out for.
Omar: Cenk Tosun (£5.7m) – He just joined Palace and I think Hodgson will replace Ayew with him shortly. With 0.1% ownerhsip he can be a very good differential.
Adam: Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£5.9m) – Ever since Marco Silva’s departure from Everton the club have been looking a much more fluid side. Both Carlo Ancelotti and Duncan Ferguson have relied on DCL during this period, and seem to be getting the best out of the young English forward. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s no longer a differential this time next week ahead of Everton’s kind run of games.
Omar: Anthony Martial (£7.9m) – I didn’t have Vardy in the reverse of this gameweek and it’s scary not to captain him, but I think Martial is the best option this gameweek.
Adam: Jamie Vardy (£10.0m) – Coming off a two-week rest Vardy still leads the goalscoring charts by four goals, with a total of 17. He will surely be eager to get back to his hot streak against the Saints. Although Southampton have improved in recent gameweeks, he did manage to score a hattrick against them a couple months back in their historic 9-0 away win. What’ll happen at home?
