- Yasmine El Tohamy - Tala’a El-Gaish defender Ahmed Alaa has suffered an injury blow after sustaining an Anterior Cruciate Ligament tear during his team’s encounter against Haras El Hodood on Wednesday.

Alaa joined El-Gaish on a two-year loan deal from Al Ahly. He had played for the Red Devils for a sole year.

However he failed to breakthrough the first team in his first season as he only made six appearances between the league and Egypt Cup.

The 25-year-old came out injured during ENPPI’s meeting against Haras El-Hodood. Later on, MRI scans confirmed that the player had indeed torn his ACL.

The injury means that Alaa will miss around six months and he will be undergoing surgery in the coming days.

The former Al Ahly defender featured in nine games for El-Gaish in the league this term.
