- Yasmine El Tohamy - Marwan Mohsen scored twice as Al Ahly eased past FC Masr in an impressive 3-1 victory in the 12th fixture of the Egyptian Premier League.

The Reds broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute through Junior Ajayi. The Nigerian’s screamer from the edge of the box nestled into the back of the net, following a clever one-two pass with Mohsen.

In the 36th minute, Mohsen wasted a glorious chance to double the lead as he failed to capitalise on a defensive howler.

Six minutes after the restart, Mohsen made it 2-0 for the Red Devils. The striker converted Mohamed Magdy Afsha’s accurate cross with a perfectly placed headed effort.

Less than two minutes later, Mohsen completed his brace. Aliou Diang released Afsha behind FC Masr’s backline, the midfielder squared the ball towards Mohsen, who was left with a simple tap in from a close range.

FC Masr responded immediately, as Ahmed El-Sheikh pulled one back for his side. The player found the back of the net with an accurate freekick effort this hit the post and went into the back of the net in the 57th minute.

Al Ahly maintained locked defence until the referee blew the fulltime whistle, to end the game as a 3-1 victory for the Reds.

Following the victory, Al Ahly cement their position on top of the league table with 30 points before facing FC Platinum on the 11th of January.
