Mohamed Salah produced a man of the match performance and scored a goal as Liverpool beat Sheffield United 2-0 in the Premier League.

Just four minutes into the game Salah opened the scoring after brilliantly finishing Robertson cross between Dean Henderson’s legs.

In the 11th minute, Salah nearly doubled the scoring but his right footer was saved by the Sheffield United goalkeeper. Eight minutes later, Wijnadlum controlled the ball under pressure at the edge of the box before his shot went wide.

Then in the 57th minute Firmino took a long range shot but he was unable to test Henderson. Three minutes later, Salah hit the post after his cross fooled everyone including the goalkeeper who was able to save it before it went in.

Sadio Mane scored his side’s second in the 64th minute after he found himself on a one on one position with Henderson who initially parried the ball. Before the Senegalese international scored the rebound.

In the 69th minute the Egyptian was once again denied by the Sheffield goalkeeper as his half volley was saved in the near post.

Liverpool remain on top of the league table with 58 points, 13 ahead of their closest rivals Leicester City with a game in hand. Their next game will be against Everton in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday January 5th.
