RIYADH — The mobile unit of the Civil Status Department has begun providing services to Saudi men and women in 36 locations in various regions of the Kingdom during this week.
These include civil registry services such as issuance and renewal of the National Identity Card and the family registry in addition to registration of cases of marriage, divorce and death, change in profession, as well as printing of ID documents.
The mobile unit is carrying out visits to 10 locations in the Makkah region, nine in Al-Jouf region, seven in Asir, four in Qassim, three in Riyadh, two in Hail, and one in Jazan.
The mobile unit came into being within the framework of the implementation of the Ministry of Interior’s Civil Status Agency for the “Maujudeen” initiative that aimed to serve governorates and towns where there are no Civil Status offices.
The agency has also other initiatives such as “We come over to you” initiative dedicated to serve government and private agencies, and “My ID is my belonging” campaign which aims to make aware about the importance of safeguarding the identity card for women as it is the ID to prove their national identity.
The unit will also extend services of issuing national identity cards to women citizens who are entitled to have it after reaching out to them in the government and private sectors in governorates, villages, towns, schools and universities in all regions of the Kingdom.
