Co Meath Mann accused of using land as a runway
A farmer allegedly operates a private jet runway on a neighbor’s land without an aviation permit, according to the Dublin High Court.

s Justice Leonie Reynolds yesterday issued an order preventing James Carey of Preston Hill, Stamullen, Co Meath from operating part of a neighboring 32-acre operation of housing company Alcove Ireland Eight Ltd. to use as an airfield or runway.

Alcove claimed Mr Carey did earthworks on the property and posted posts related to his grass runway in Stamullen.

Alcove’s Raymond Reilly said in a statement it was part of a series of three-year encroachments on the property that Alcove has been renting to another farmer for grazing since 2012.

Mr Reilly said Mr Carey’s actions included demolishing fences, invading his land and putting beehives on part of it.

Ms. Justice Reynolds said she was pleased with the order to restrict the operation of the land as a runway. The case returns next week.
