Dr. Tarek Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education, met with the French Ambassador in Cairo Stephane Romate and his accompanying delegation, to discuss aspects of cooperation between Egypt and France within the framework of education development plans.

At the outset, Dr. Tariq Shawky welcomed the ambassador and his accompanying delegation, thanking the French government for its keenness to consolidate cooperation with Egypt and provide support to Egypt and Egyptian education, stressing that there are many opportunities for cooperation between the two countries in addition to the existing projects.

Dr. Tariq Shawky stressed the need to use technology in teaching foreign languages, and to seek the help of a knowledge bank and to feed it with the latest educational resources.

For his part, Stefan Rumate praised the efforts made by the Minister of Education to develop the educational process in Egypt, and the great leap and reforms that have been achieved in this field, from the development of teaching methods, changing curricula and examination methods, and the continuous pursuit of developing foreign languages ​​in schools, and other important reforms.

The French ambassador in Cairo affirmed France’s keenness to provide all aspects of support to the Egyptian Ministry of Education. To develop the French language that is taught in schools to raise the level of students in the language.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed means of cooperation in providing various digital resources in the French language on the Knowledge Bank and the educational platforms launched by the Ministry, as well as teaching French as a second language in all schools of the Republic, starting from the first year of middle school, and completing cooperation in translating new curricula into the French language, in addition to Translating the digital content on the Knowledge Bank and making it available in the French language.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Nermin Al-Nomani, Advisor to the Minister for International Cooperation, Professor Engy Mashhour, Assistant Minister for Executive Affairs, Follow-up and Special Education, and Dr. Nawal Shalabi, Director of the National Curriculum Development Center at the Ministry of Education.
