Jared Kushner arrives in Saudi Arabia and meets Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman

White House senior adviser Jared Kushner arrived in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday where he held talks with Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman.

The Saudi Press Agency reported that Mr Kushner and the accompanying delegation discussed regional stability and bilateral relations.

“They discussed the peace process and its horizons as well as the need to resume negotiations between the Palestinians and the Israelis to reach just and lasting peace,” the statement read.

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan attended the meeting.

Mr Kushner arrived in Saudi Arabia while on a regional trip that took him to Israel and the United Arab Emirates.

He was on the first commercial flight from Israel to UAE, which also carried an Israeli delegation, following the peace accord between the two on August 13.

Mr Kushner said on Tuesday that Saudi Arabia was “very gracious” in allowing the flight to pass through its airspace.

Prince Faisal bin Farhan described the UAE-Israel agreement as positive two weeks ago, but reiterated Riyadh’s position that normalisation with Israel would be after a peace agreement with the Palestinians.

“Peace must be achieved between the Palestinians and Israelis based on the internationally recognised parameters. Once that is achieved, all things are possible,” the Saudi chief diplomat said.
