The UAE, Yemen’s internationally recognised government and Pakistan have all condemned the Iran-backed Houthi militia's attempts to target civilian areas in Saudi Arabia with explosive-laden drones and ballistic missiles, which were intercepted by coalition forces.

In a statement on Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the UAE reiterated its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia in regards to any terrorist attacks against civilians and any threats to its security and stability.

The security of the UAE and that of Saudi Arabia are “indivisible”, the Foreign Ministry said.

"The continuation of such attacks and threats demonstrates the danger the Houthi coup poses to the region and further demonstrates this militia's intention to undermine regional security and stability," it added.

The Saudi-led coalition said on Monday it had intercepted and destroyed four missiles and six explosive drones launched from Yemen towards Saudi Arabia overnight by Houthi rebels.

Cross-border attacks by the Iran-aligned Houthis have escalated since late May, when a truce prompted by the coronavirus pandemic ended.

Yemeni Information Minister Muammar Al-Iryani on Tuesday also strongly condemned the attacks.

Mr Al-Iryani stated, according to the Yemeni News Agency, the terrorist attacks confirm the Houthi militia's continued escalation, implementing Iranian dictates, pointing out that the Iranian regime and its puppet in Yemen fail the calm efforts by the UN and brotherly and friendly countries.

Pakistan also rejected the attacks. The country’s foreign ministry praised the interception of ballistic missiles and drones, preventing the loss of innocent lives. The statement added that Pakistan reiterates its full support and solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia against any threats to its security and territorial integrity.
