A video went viral on social media showing pigeons wearing cowboy hats strutting the streets in Las Vegas.

The gooey video was shared extensively as the birds looked adorable in miniature cowboy hats that were apparently glued to their heads. A Vegas resident, Bobby Lee, posted a video on showing two birds wearing the miniature hats - one red and one pink, last week.

Since the footage emerged, it got animal rescuers in Las Vegas worried who said they are trying to capture the pigeons for their safety. Mariah Hillman, co-founder of a local pigeon rescue called Lofty Hopes, said, "At first, I was like, oh my god that's cute! Then, I was like, wait a minute - how did they get those hats on there," UPI quoted Hillman as saying.

Hillman said she is hoping to capture the pigeons and remove the hats. "Did they glue them? And what does that mean for them?" she said. "Is it something that's going to impede their flight or attract predators?"

However, it still remains a mystery as to who stuck the hats on the pigeons.
