President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi directed the medical sector to prepare to face any possible second wave of the Coronavirus, especially with the approaching new school year, stressing the solidarity of all responsible basic elements from ministries, educational departments and educational facilities to provide the maximum possible security for students and those in the educational system, to ensure their safety The regularity of the academic process, while continuing intensive awareness campaigns in this regard at the level of families and all citizens.

This came during the President’s meeting, on Sunday, with Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health and Population, Dr. Mohamed Awad Tajuddin, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Health and Prevention Affairs, and Major General Doctor Baha El Din Zidan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Purchase Authority. Al-Muwahid, Major General Doctor Mustafa Abu Hatab, Director of the International Medical Center, and Major General Doctor Magdy Amin, Director of the Armed Forces Medical Services Department.

In this context, the President directed the establishment of the project according to the highest international standards, with the aim of Egypt having the capacity in this vital field that has a direct impact on the health and safety of citizens.

Ambassador Bassam Radi, the official spokesperson for the Presidency of the Republic, said that the meeting dealt with the developments of the national project to collect and manufacture plasma derivatives, as well as follow up the general situation of the spread of the Corona virus, in addition to a number of national projects in the health sector.

The meeting reviewed the steps and contacts made by the concerned authorities in the country regarding the plasma collection and manufacturing project in partnership with long-standing foreign expertise in this field, including the results of studies on establishing blood collection centers and their locations at the republic level.

Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health, presented the latest developments in the epidemiological situation of the Corona virus at the level of the governorates of the Republic, and the control efforts by the state, including conducting the third phase of clinical trials for the vaccine, as well as quarantine procedures and medical examination at ports and airports in tourist governorates, in addition to The precautionary measures to be taken during the events that Egypt will witness over the coming period, most notably the parliamentary elections and the World Handball Cup.

The Spokesman added that the Minister of Health also presented the developments of the executive position to implement the comprehensive health insurance system in the governorates of the first phase, which had previously been launched in Port Said, with a review of future steps in this regard and the scheduled time plan for the inclusion of the rest of the governorates in the system.

The President directed the steps taken to include the governorates of the first phase into the comprehensive health insurance system, while making use of all steps and procedures applied in Port Said governorate, as well as adhering to the established basic determinants, foremost among which are performance efficiency, service quality, and regular flows of financial resources to the system.

The meeting dealt with reviewing the results of implementing various presidential initiatives within the framework of the state’s efforts to improve public health, under the umbrella of “100 million health”, and what has been achieved of its goals at the republic level, especially with regard to treating virus “C”, supporting the health of Egyptian women, and treating Noncommunicable diseases and critical care surgeries.

The President directed the provision of the necessary financial resources to expand the efforts of various presidential initiatives in the field of public health, as they have a direct impact on the health and safety of citizens of all age groups.
