Aden - Yasmine El Tohamy - PC210-10M0 and PC500LC-10R excavators were recently launched at an exclusive event held at Komatsu Middle East's new facility in Jebel Ali Free Zone

Komatsu Middle East is en route to enhance the UAE's progressive construction sector with two newly launched excavators that promise productivity and efficiency at reduced operating costs.

Komatsu's PC210-10M0 and PC500LC-10R excavators were recently launched at an exclusive event held at Komatsu Middle East's new facility in Jebel Ali Free Zone.

Following an opening speech by Komatsu representatives and officials, the Japan-based heavy equipment brand introduced customers - from the UAE, Oman, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait and Turkey - to its new portfolio through an exciting live demonstration set on a real construction site.

Yoshihisa Hayashi, managing director of Komatsu Middle East FZE, addressed attendees in a welcome speech. Clients then saw both excavators in action behind a comfortable viewing panel, as Ashraf Hashish, senior general manager for marketing at Komatsu Middle East FZE, narrated the optimised features of the new range that holds great potential for the ever-evolving infrastructure, construction and development needs in the UAE and abroad.

"We believe that Komatsu will continue to have a decent contribution and share of the UAE's progressive construction sector due to the fact that Komatsu's new excavators are designed on the concept of having higher productivity, lower maintenance cost, lower fuel consumption and more durability," said Ashraf A. Hashish told Al Khaleej Today.

He said the new machines are tested and approved to have higher production, substantial reduction in fuel consumption and maintenance cost compared to the older generation.

The event also featured industry-related presentations by John Fahy, construction regional sales manager at Topcon Positioning Middle East and Africa FZE; and Swaroop Seem, manager parts marketing, Komatsu Middle East.

Samer Khalid, CEO - heavy equipment division, Galadari Brothers Co, who are the exclusive distributors of Komatsu in the UAE, said: "What sets these machineries apart is that they are made in Japan, meaning they are of high quality and durability. One of their notable features is less fuel consumption by almost 20 per cent, compared to competitors; with better efficiency and productivity at 10 to 15 per cent."

Armed with a mission "that possibilities can become progress", Komatsu's new excavators are equipped with centralised filters, improved digging power, bigger bucket, higher lifting capacity, easy maintenance systems, and enhanced safety features - that collectively contribute towards better workflow, on-site productivity and profitability for its clients.

"The PC210-10M0 and PC500LC-10R by Komatsu will benefit the UAE's construction sector. With the ability to reduce one's own expenses, contractors can make better tender at lower prices for clients. Eventually, it is a win-win situation for the company, contractors and us," Khalid said.

At the event, patrons embarked on familiarisation tour of Komatsu Middle East's Training and Demonstration Centre, where the brand showcased its state-of-the-art facility and regional parts distribution centre, including its training unit that reinforces Komatsu's commitment to best customer support.

Khalid said Komatsu and Galadari Trucks and Heavy Equipment have been in a partnership, growing stronger for 45 years. "Together, we work to support our customers and provide the best after-sales services and practices, complemented by more efficient machines to suit their work environment."
